Future Directions: Weaving Leadership into My Life
Coming into UW, I certainly didn't see myself as a leader. I will leave this university, however, with leadership close to my heart, embodying for me much of what I have learned is important to me and driving what I want to do in the future: which is serving where I believe I can have a meaningful impact. While at UW I had the opportunity to participate in a number of opportunities which have allowed me to explore and reflect meaningfully on what leadership means to me, how I identify as a leader, and how I want to take that forward into my life.
Husky Leadership Certificate
As a junior I completed the Husky Leadership Certificate (HLC) program, through which I identified my core values, several personal leadership identities which resonate with who I am and how I see myself being effective as a leader, and also wrote a leadership philosophy statement which demonstrates how I see and wish to exemplify leadership throughout my own life. |
Honors Career Mentorship Program
As a senior, I participated in the new Honors Career Mentorship Program and was paired with a mentor who helped me to explore career interests and develop more confidence in how to approach and navigate what I want to do post-graduation. |
